Eight hours of basic instruction on the safe practices and procedures for carrying a concealed firearm. Focuses on the principles of safe concealed carry, loading and unloading, as well as drawing, reloading, clearing malfunctions, and accurately engaging targets using standard responses at close quarters. This course is designed for those who have obtained a CFP but are not yet comfortable with the carrying of the concealed firearm, as well as for those who have a basic understanding of shooting a pistol but wish to improve their skills. PREREQUISITE: Attendee must possess a current CFP or be eligible to obtain one (go to Utah CFP website, www.utah.gov, to determine eligibility), or waiver by SRW Staff.
EQUIPMENT: Pistol (.380 minimum, NO .22, .25, .32), spare magazines (at least 2 magazines required), 150 rounds ammunition, hearing protection (muff type, electronic preferred), eye protection (range glasses, wrap around preferred), belt holster with belt, belt magazine pouch, appropriate loose clothing and footwear for range exercises (weather can be cool so dress accordingly), a positive attitude. If you have problems getting ammunition for the course, it will be available on the range, email us for ammo prices.
